● Property Tax Reduction
With this audit, we review real and personal property tax assessments which often results in the identification of opportunities for lower property tax bills. The average savings realized by our clients relative to their property tax is 20%. ● Commercial Property Tax Credits Known in the tax code as Cost Segregation, this strategy for commercial property owners results in enhanced depreciation of approximately $150,000 per $1M for purchase, construction or renovation costs over the normal 39 year straight line method. This is an exceptional strategy to leverage the “time value of money”. The resulting benefit is superior cash flow. According to the IRS, “Cost Segregation Studies are a lucrative tax strategy that should be considered in almost every real estate purchase.” We have performed thousands and thousands of “engineering based” studies and have found that 90% of commercial properties qualify for this service. ● Property Lease Cost Reduction With this audit, we help commercial tenants recover rent expense overpayments and prevent ongoing operating expense overcharges that are based on inaccurate billing methodologies or impermissible lease charges. All leases are auditable. We are highly effective in identifying issues and recapturing those monies. When we find errors in a property lease audit, they are typically large errors. ● Manufacturing Tax Credits (R&D Tax Credits) This tax credit designed as an incentive to promote manufacturing and R&D, but it is not limited to manufacturing. The IRS's definition of R&D is much broader than many companies realize. For example, industries which qualify for this credit include fabrication, architecture, engineering, software and hardware development, biotech, agriculture, development of new concepts or technologies, and more. This tax credit usually results in a five or six figure check from the IRS within 120 days. ● Merchant Services Audit This is a powerful “watchdog” service. We are not processors! The business does not have to change to another merchant processor! The focus is to save money with the same processor. The federal government estimates that merchant processors overcharge more than $80 billion from business owners each year. This model serves to identify and correct these abuses - guaranteeing that the abuse does not occur again throughout the remainder of the working relationship. As always, we are compensated on a contingency basis as a share of the savings generated. So far, our success rate in finding overcharges is 100%. ● Workers Compensation Cost Reduction Often the employee classification relative to workers compensation insurance is incomplete or simply wrong. These errors cost employers millions of dollars annually. We evaluate the policies by comparing the policy content to the source documentation to determine the actual policy premium the business should be paying. The business owner may be entitled to refunds of over expenditures for up to the last 7 years of premiums. An additional realized benefit will be annual savings going forward. In excess of 70% of all businesses are being over charged. The business does not have to change carriers. ● Hiring Tax Incentives There are over 500 state and federal hiring incentive tax credit programs. Consequently, substantial opportunities for employers are being overlooked. We review every applicable stimulus package to determine the eligibility of current and future employees in order to assess potential tax credit. Business owners can benefit up to $9,600 per year per employee in tax credits. ● Waste Disposal/Recycling Cost Reduction This audit lowers monthly expenses for solid waste, medical waste, and recycling disposables by finding errors, overcharges and other cost reduction opportunities. We see a 77% persistency in savings with this audit. ● Energy Study Audit There currently are three functions under this service. The first is a review of all local, state, and federal programs available to assist in energy reduction efforts. The second is a review of the most current energy technologies. The third is an actual study of the physical structures. Here our engineers and contractors can engage in structural changes. This results in greatly reduced energy costs. ● Energy Deregulation Cost Reduction We employ a “reverse auction” model to bid the energy cost down. The lowest priced bidder wins, thus ensuring that the customer gets the best possible contract for saving on energy costs. We have relationships with every provider in the country, so we are in a unique position with special contracts. We have a proprietary audit structure and we are able to guarantee in every case that we will not only be able to provide savings, but that the ultimate contract the client receives will be the lowest contract of its type. We provide the same power, we are just doing it cheaper. Some states, such as California, are only partially de-regulated for electricity. ● Equipment Lease Cost Reduction With equipment leasing, there is the potential for even minute errors in billing to develop into massive over expenditures. We not only identify those errors and recapture those expenses, but also provide savings on future use. All leases are auditable. The longer the equipment has been leased and the larger the expense, the more you will want us to review it. Common equipment audited: - copiers and printers - IT equipment - telephone systems - industrial equipment - corporate vehicle fleets - construction equipment - hospital beds - etc. Hospital beds are huge; we find errors here almost 80% of the time. We find hundreds of thousands of dollars, and even millions, depending on the hospital size. ● Cell Phone Cost Reduction We are successful 99% of the time in saving our clients 25% or more of their gross communication costs. We do not change to a different carrier. The focus is to save money within the same carrier. We work directly with a carrier which is something other companies cannot do - with the exception of Fortune 500 companies. We work primarily with companies spending $1,000 per month or more in usage. ● Shipping Freight/Parcel Cost Reduction We have a 90% success rate in identifying client savings that are based on overcharges from the shipping carriers. With the vastness and volume of today’s shipping enterprise, there exists enormous opportunity for billing errors to occur. We provide client reports detailing the errors. We review and audit a company’s overall freight/parcel costs that use FedEx or UPS and that have a minimum annual shipping cost of $100k. ● Medical Supply Cost Reduction Through this service, we are able to go directly to sources and negotiate from a strong informed standpoint, giving us tremendous advantage in lowering bulk medical supplies. Through our proprietary database and contracts, we demonstrate the ability to drastically reduce bulk purchase prices and even eliminate middle men. Some buy direct, others buy bulk through intermediaries. We outperform both methods. The buyer has two options: 1. We negotiate lower pricing for the same brand products you are currently using, or 2. You can choose similar products for even better pricing. ● Domestic Production Tax Credit Every business in the manufacturing sector (and many others), whether small or large, should consider the manufacturing deduction under IRC § 199. While section 199 comes with a complex set of rules, it nonetheless represents a valuable tax break for businesses that perform domestic manufacturing and other specific production activities. For tax years beginning in 2010 and thereafter, the benefit is fully phased in at 9% of income from qualified production activities. ● Access Discount Healthcare This plan is able to save employers and employees significant amounts on healthcare cost and significantly decrease the company’s total insurance cost. The cost of the health insurance will decrease in line with every utilization in our structure. Every time employees uses our program, it is a service the company insurance plan is not paying for. It is a direct dollar for dollar savings. If the company is self-insured, they will realize these savings immediately in a tangible way because the cost is not filtering down to them. If they are on a fully insured plan, they won’t see it immediately, but they will see it through reporting from us and they can, in turn, use that to go back and negotiate with the insurance provider. ● Bank Fees Audit
The savings here can be enormous! We have saved massive amounts of money with our bank audits. 80% of businesses are being charged more than they should be. The banking world is wrought with inconsistency and duplicate billing. Our team of the best of the best of ex-banking executives will audit all aspects of the client's banking and lending relationships to identify areas for negotiating lower fees. We know the ins-and-outs of banking better than anybody in the country. We can negotiate in a capacity the average company (less than a Fortune 100) doesn’t have the capacity to engage in with that bank. There is zero risk to banking security or banking relationships. Our referral rates are 100%. ● PBM Audit (Pharmacy Benefit Management) ~This audit is for self-insured entities This is yet another of our contingency based audits that should not be disregarded. This audit is for those self-insured businesses and entities of all types. We have found up to $35M in PBM abuses and we recapture over expenditures. We engage in a free preliminary audit wherein we identify (in every case) over expenditures related to the processing, management, and reporting relative to self insured platforms. Although a lot of smaller, private PBMs do a great job, overall, the industry is like the wild west – with very little oversight and crazy things going on that would never be permitted in other industries. It is wrought with inaccuracies, inconsistencies, double billing, and various forms of padding and abuses. The average employer has no idea what they are looking at or where manipulations are occurring. So they bring in consultants to monitor. In almost every instance, consultants are being paid by the PBM whom they are supposed to be monitoring. Through our audits we regularly uncover mountainous levels of inaccurate billings that are of a critical nature to the sustainability of the insurance platform. PBM is the most expensive side of a self-insured plan and where most of the abuses occur. We engage in a free preliminary audit wherein we identify (in every case) over expenditures. ● TPA Service (Third Party Administrator) ~This audit is for self-insured entities We offer a full service TPA platform specializing in customized management programs suitable to each client's specific needs. By fully understand each client's specific needs and challenges, we create client specific solutions that revolve around those needs ● Qualified Plan Compliance Audit We have two audits covering different aspects of qualified plans. The first is plan compliance. The federal government (IRS and DOL) state that somewhere between 82% and 92% of all qualified plans in this country are non-compliant. This is a major issue as the government is aggressively pursuing fines against non-compliant businesses. In 2014, the average fine levied by the DOL was in excess of $600,000 with additional fines coming from the IRS. These audits can ensure both compliance and cost containment while being able to assist in bringing non-compliant plans back into compliance and even negotiating with the governing bodies relative to managing non-compliance penalties. ● Qualified/Pension Plan Expense Audit The Expense Audit looks purely at the plan’s multiple hidden expenses costing both employer and employees. There is a high level of concealed fees and expenses within a plan from providers. In 2015, legal precedent has been established relative to internal operating costs and the implications relative to the liabilities facing plan sponsors. Businesses are astounded when they see the level of exposure they have in this minefield. Due to gaps in legislation, when plan sponsors (employers) think they have done their due diligence on plan expenses, they are wrong. And, they are exposed to legislation and DOL sanctions. Even if they didn’t have this exposure, they themselves are incurring unnecessary expenses they shouldn’t be incurring in the plan. We come in at no cost or obligation and audit these expenses. This not only significantly reduces costs to employers and employees, but leaves the business in the position of having gone above and beyond required due diligence. This leaves them safe from lawsuits and steep fines - and we stand behind our work. ● Vendor Screening ~Primarily for businesses that have 200 or more vendors Business owners carry an incredible amount of liability relative to the vendors they elect to engage. This liability stems from both a federal law (Patriot Act) and from a legal liability standpoint (subcontractors/vendors). There are two very important reasons why this is important to the employer. Number one is the Patriot Act where you have to know who you are employing. Whether you are directly employing them through vendors or subcontractors, you have an obligation and liability. Then there is civil liability. This is the liability you carry by just letting people on your location (civil suites). Somebody can sue you because of the actions of somebody you have allowed on site. On the Patriot Act side, you have sanctions that can be levied against you if you have not done your due diligence to see who is working for you. Multiples of hundreds of thousands of dollars of fines can be levied against you. Virtually nobody is in compliance. Our screening does not cost the employer anything - ever. We get paid by the vendors. Our process relieves companies from the huge burden of management, maintenance and screening.
